Day 5

Well, the first week is over!! It has been a great week and it is thanks to the boys and girls who have shared those days with us! We hope you enjoyed a lot the casal and, for those who are not coming next week, have a GREAT summer!!

Yesterday, we went to Poble Espanyol  and we did an activity called "El Joc del Sarró", in which some monitors made a gymkhana in English for our students! It was good fun!
After that, we went back to the school and, there we showed the show we had all prepared during the week. Group 1 danced, group 2 made a theatre play and group 3 sang a beautiful song! At the end of the festival, we gave the kids the medals they had done in arts and crafts!

Doncs sí,  ja ha acabat la primera setmana! Ha estat una setmana genial i això és gràcies als nens i nenes que han compartit aquests dies amb nosaltres! Esperem que us ho hàgiu passat molt bé al casal i, pels que no tornen dilluns, que tingueu un molt bon estiu!

Ahir vàrem anar al Poble espanyol a  fer una activitat anomenada "El Joc del Sarró", que consistí en una gimcana en anglès, preparada per uns monitors.  va ser molt divertit!

Després d'això, vàrem tornar al col.legi i, allà, vàrem mostrar els shows que cada grup havia estat preparant tota la setmana! El grup 1 va ballar, el grup dos va fer una obra de teatre i el grup 3 va cantar una cançó. Finalment, els monitors vàrem entregar als nens les medalles que varen fer a l'hora de manualitats!

As we told you on the first day, there has been a change in the group of monitors who will be working in the casal. Cynthia Lylte will not be part of the group but Collete Sykes and Nick Gool will be with us instead. Here you have their presentations!

Com ja us vàrem dir el primer dia, hi ha hagut un canvi en el grup de monitors que treballaran al casal. La Cynthia Lytle no formarà part del grup, i s'han incorporat en el seu lloc la Colette Sykes i el Nick Gool.

My name’s Nick and I live in the Sagrada Familia area of Barcelona. I’ve lived in Spain for the last 22 years, for the most part in Barcelona, but I also spent four eventful years living in Seville way back in the 90’s. Apart from being a teacher of English, I’m also a Nutritionist and have taught courses of Creative Home Cooking to adults. I’m currently studying Shiatsu, a form of energetic massage from Japan. In my spare time I like watching films, reading, walking, swimming and cycling. I’m really pleased to be invited to join the team of monitors for the CSM Olympic Games and I hope my contribution will help to make this year’s Casal a happy and enjoyable one. 

El meu nom és Nick i visc a la zona de la Sagrada Família, a Barcelona. Fa 22 anys que visc a Espanya , quasi tot el temps a Barcelona, però també he passat quatre anys a Sevilla, cap els 90s.

A més de ser professor d'anglès, també sóc nutricionista i he impartit cursos de cuina creativa cassolana per adults. Actualment estic estudiant Shiatsu, un tipus de massatge energètic del Japó. Durant el meu temps lliure m'agrada veure pel.lícules, llegir, passejar, nedar i fer ciclisme. Estic encantat de poder treballar al casal d'aquest estiu, un casal divertit i alegre.



 

My name is Colette.  I’ve been a teacher at Saint Michael for three years. I live in Gracia and love cycling especially in the summer.  I’m really looking forward to teaching some of the schools younger students this week and hope everyone likes scones.

 

Em dic Colette. Porto tres anys a l’escola Sant Miquel com a professora. Visc a Gràcia i m’encanta fer ciclisme sobretot a l’estiu. Tinc moltes ganes d’ensenyar els alumnes de primària aquesta setmana i espero que a tothom li agradin els “scones”.

 

Day 4

Did you like today's activities, children? Did you have fun? It was such a hot day! So we had to take advantage of that and we played water polo in the pool, watched a film and played with water in a very cool gymkhana! :D

Tomorrow we're going to Poble Espanyol! Remember to wear comfortable shoes and a cup! We'll have lunch there and, when we come back, we'll do the festival!

Us han agradat les activitats d'avui, nens? Us ho heu passat bé? Quina calor ha fet avui!! Però nosaltres hem aprofitat el dia per jugar a waterpolo a la piscina, hem mirat una pel.lícula i hem jugat amb aigua a una gimcana molt divertida! :D

Demà anem al poble espanyol! Recordeu que heu de portar calçat còmode i una gorra! Dinarem allà i després farem el festival!

Day 3

The excursion to Malgrat de Mar was a great success! In the morning, we went to the beach and then, we went to a park called Francesc Macià. Check out the pictures and videos. You'll love them all! :D

Tomorrow we'll be doing cinemaforum, sports, pool and more activities which are good fun! So, sleep and rest and we'll be waiting for you at 9 a. m. as usual! :D

L'excursió a Malgrat de mar ha estat un èxit! Pel matí hem anat a la platja i després, per la tarda, hem anat al parc de Francesc Macià. Mireu les fotos i els videos, us encantarà!

Demà farem cinemaforum, esports, piscina i moltes altres activitats que són molt divertides! Així que dormiu, descanseu i demà us esperem a les 9 del matí, com sempre! :D
